ABC: Airway, Bruxism, & Craniofacial Pain Dental Course Description

Dentists involved in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, TMJ/TMD pain, or bruxism should be knowledgeable in all three disorders.

Understanding the correlation between airway, bruxism, and craniofacial pain can help you grow your dental sleep medicine and craniofacial pain practice by identifying root causes of symptoms and building stronger referral relationships with physicians.

Learn how to assess your patients, prioritize, and fabricate a treatment plan that provides the best results for these three conditions.

With clenching or grinding of one’s teeth being a symptom of pain, OR a way for the brain to protect itself from suffocation, Dr. Mayoor Patel shares how to implement a screening process to help identify bruxism as a sign of TMJ/craniofacial pain or sleep-disordered breathing and manage their treatment.

Getting your patients out of pain and restoring their sleep, energy, health, and quality of life is immensely rewarding and needed by so many patients with sleep apnea, orofacial pain, and bruxism, and this dental course will help you give your patients the best quality of care possible.

Dr. Mayoor Patel

“Many dentists find an area of interest based on some of their own dental problems they are suffering through(we are no different from our own patients).I took Dr. Patel’s course on Craniofacial pain to try to help my patients when they didn’t respond to traditional dental treatments as well as for some of my own symptoms. His course was a HUGE eye-opener.

The saying “you don’t know what you don’t know” truly applied. After practicing dentistry for 24 years, I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the head and neck. Well, I didn’t! Thus began my journey to find relief for my own personal disrupted sleep and Chronic TMD issues. I went on to take the Airway, Bruxism and Craniofacial pain course. I finally learned enough to really start looking at and evaluating my patients differently.

I can now say that through the knowledge that Dr. Patel has shared I am now sleeping better and am pain-free for the first time in many years. I now look forward to sharing what I have learned with my patients and helping them on their own personal journeys to better sleep and resolving their pain.”
