I”m extremely new at billing medical insurance for dental procedures and have one main question.. Does a dental implant Have to be medially necessary due to an injury for medical to cover it? I know the CPT code for the placement of the implant (D6010) is 21248, but I can not figure out what CPT code to use if the teeth were not lost due to injury or illness.. Any advice?
