Hello, One of our patients fell while walking her dog and fractured crowns on #8 & #9. The crown on #8 was completely fractured off except for minor remnant in mesial. There was fracture to porcelain on #9 and it was dislodged from the crown margin. Both teeth need new crowns. When reporting the ICD 10 codes for this would you recommend we use S02.5XXA – Fracture of tooth (traumatic), initial encounter for closed fracture OR K08.539 – Fractured dental restorative material, unspecified? Will also report W01.198A – Fall on same level from slipping, tripping and stumbling with subsequent striking against other object, initial encounter along with Y93.K1 – Activity, walking an animal. Thanks for your help!
