So I’ve had PPF on my car for about five years now and honestly it’s served me well, but it’s starting to show its age with some yellowing on the white panels and a few scratches that aren’t self-healing anymore. I’m thinking about having it removed and possibly getting a fresh install, but I’m absolutely terrified about what I might find underneath. I’ve heard horror stories where people removed PPF and the paint came off with it, especially if the film had been on for a long time or if the car had any prior paintwork that wasn’t properly cured before the PPF was applied. My car has never been resprayed and the PPF was applied when the car was brand new, so the paint underneath has never been exposed to sun or elements.
